Loudwater is a 40MW/55MWh Battery Energy Storage System which Eku Energy delivered near High Wycombe in Buckinghamshire, England.
As part of their growing portfolio of renewable infrastructure projects, ESM Power Ltd appointed Proactive Security Services Ltd to deliver a complete CCTV and security lighting solution at their Loudwater Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) facility.
With critical assets on-site and a remote location to manage, ESM Power required a compliant, robust, and remotely accessible security system designed for 24/7 monitoring and protection.
The battery will provide vital flexibility to enable more renewable generation and increase the resilience of the UK electricity network.
To meet net zero by 2050, the UK Government has committed to decarbonise the electricity system by 2035. Battery storage is a critical enabler of this transition, helping to store and shift renewable generation to times of day when it is most needed, while helping to balance electricity supply and demand second-by-second.
