Pillswood Battery Energy Storage System

This 98MW/196 MWh scheme and is currently thought to be the largest standalone battery storage system in Europe, using a Tesla 2-hour Megapack technology system. The site is located next to National Grid’s Creyke Beck electricity substation.

Proactive Security were appointed for the design, installation and commissioning of the Fire and Security systems.

Post energisation in 2022 Proactive Security were contracted to implement the response and monitoring arrangements ensuring the future maintenance and support mechanisms are in place for the £75m BESS project.
