The Rusholme Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), developed by Harmony Energy, is located in North Yorkshire, UK. This project has a capacity of 35 MW / 70 MWh and became operational in August 2024. It was built to enhance grid flexibility and stability, especially as the UK increases its reliance on renewable energy sources like wind and solar. The project is managed through Tesla’s Autobidder, an algorithmic trading platform that optimizes energy trading and storage.

This system is part of the growing BESS infrastructure in the UK, helping to support the country’s goals for net-zero emissions by providing energy security and balancing intermittent renewable power.
